OMBS MERGER WITH CONCORD BAPTIST INSTITUTE

Oklahoma Missionary Baptist Seminary has transferred virtually all of its assets to Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Norman for the operation of Concord Baptist Institute under the leadership of Pastor R.L. Clark. A small reserve has been transferred to Abounding Grace Baptist Church to cover final expenses connected with the dissolution of OMBS, whereupon the balance, if any, will be transferred to Concord. Upon completion of this process, OMBS will no longer exist.

IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF TRANSCRIPTS OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR TIME AT OMBS, PLEASE CONTACT CONCORD BAPTIST INSTITUTE IN NORMAN, OK.  THEIR WEBSITE IS:

By way of recap, the building in Marlow was sold several years ago at auction after having been listed with various realtors for several years with no serious takers. It had also been offered for use to at least two ABA potential works which were never initiated.  The proceeds of the sale have been held as assets of OMBS, an autonomous legal entity with its own charter and By-Laws.

Just prior to the sale of the building, the Library which was housed there was transferred to Concord for use by CBI.

All assets of OMBS were in its name, and were not co-mingled with those of the sponsoring church. Without the burden of a building to keep up, the income from these assets were available to be used to further the purpose of OMBS, which was to promote the education of those who would be involved in the Lord's ministry. To this end, OMBS contributed to the support of CBI and provided scholarships to CBI students.

The trustees of OMBS and the membership of Abounding Grace have been committed to the faithful stewardship of the assets of OMBS for the benefit of the associated churches of the state of Oklahoma and are convinced that this tradition and commitment will be carried on by Concord Missionary Baptist Church and CBI.
